18th Street Arts Center 

Originally designed as a think-tank for artists in the 80’s, the 18th Street Arts Center has grown into one of the biggest artist residency programs in the country. This unique gallery is part artist living space, part public event space, part living art gallery. Events and exhibitions rotate regularly, and walk-in visitors are welcome. Along with their top-rated residency program, the center features the Arts Learning Lab @ Home, which is a series of free online arts classes for kids and families schooling from home. Craft Contemporary 

Craft Contemporary was founded in 1973 and presents vibrant exhibitions by new and seasoned artists and designers who are often under-represented and larger art institutions.The focus here is art made from craft media and other processes, ⁣and the name was chosen to “ emphasize the word ‘craft’ as a verb and a noun—celebrating both the act and outcome of making.” Along with its vibrant rotation of exhibits, Craft Contemporary offers classes, workshops, craft at home tutorials and programs for kids and teens.

Petersen Automotive Museum 

Not your typical art museum, the Petersen Automotive Museum is a car lover’s dream come true. The museum has over 100 vehicles throughout its 25 creative galleries. There are more in a vault on the building's basement level, but age restrictions and extra fees are involved in visiting the vault collection.On the first floor you’ll find exhibits focused on automotive artistry, with a collection of incredible luxury cars. The upstairs exhibits are designed around design, performance, and interactive teaching exhibits. The third floor walks visitors through the history of the automobile, with an emphasis on the car culture of Southern California. 

Some of the cars, automotive memorabilia, and exhibits include: 

  • An extensive Porsche exhibit (until January 2019), including the rare 1939 Porsche 64, one of only two in existence 

  • An exhibit on the history of the Japanese automotive industry, with many cars on view from Japanese collections

Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA) 

LACMA is the largest art museum in the western United States. It attracts nearly a million visitors annually.[7] It holds more than 150,000 works spanning the history of art from ancient times to the present. In addition to art exhibits, the museum features film and concert series. Here you’ll find rooms dedicated to:
